Frequently Asked Questions - Core Program
Our program is distinctly different from others. The following is
an outline of some differentiating elements in our Skills Training
Program.
Answers at a Glance
Cost: Each Program is
structured to meet specific needs of our clients therefore the cost
is also individualized. Our typical Core Program is 8 modules with 2
faculty at each class to facilitate program. Program includes the
completion of a Learning Project and support of Blended Learning.
Format: All classes are
Action Skill Based Learning. Skill participation is ongoing in class
exercises throughout each day. Lecture presentation is kept to
minimum.
Selection of Modules:
Depending on the needs of your organization, we have 12 modules for
you to select . We recommend a minimum of 8 modules for the
Novice-Intermediate Managers, supported by 3-4 coaching modules for
their sponsors/mentors. Modules can be customized.
Assessments:
Self-Assessments, Supervisor Assessments, Job Satisfaction and
Knowledge tests are all administered pre and post program on our web
site. They provide valuable information to you and to our faculty.
Customization: Our content is
customized to your organization’s forms, formats and policies and
procedures. This provides the participants practice with your
specifics, not generalities.
Selection of Participants: We
welcome ALL department heads into our program and find that the
multi-departmental involvement builds organization-wide bonds and
enhances the program. Our program can support your ongoing
Succession Plan for the next generation of managers.
Class size: We recommend that
the class size range between 20-25 participants. We are able to
accommodate larger groups with the realization that there are
trade-offs in amount of personal attention participants receive.
Length of Program: Each class
is a full 8 hours/day. We can arrange for some modules to be taught
on ‘back-to-back’ days to reduce faculty travel expense.
Teaching Materials:
Participants and mentors access teaching materials via our hosted
web site. Each module has modest amount of pre work and post session
activities.
Learning Projects: We
strongly advise you to include this option in your program. The
participant selects a Learning Project that is approved by your
organization. The project offers skills application and frequently
provides a measurable return on investment for the organization.
Location: We come to you. If
organizations within your geographic area or local association wish
to discuss a regional program, we would be interested in having
those conversations.
College Credit: 6 Post
Baccalaureate Credits are provided for interested participants. The
additional cost of $300/pp is paid directly to Seattle Pacific
University School of Business.
Faculty: our entire faculty
consists of experienced, health care professionals.
Blended Learning: Each
participant and their sponsors are supported with access to all
materials, discussion boards and references via our hosted web site.
Coaching and Mentoring: We
offer both stand alone and integrated programs on Coaching and
Mentoring skills for the more advanced, Director and Executive Level
Leaders. These customized programs provide both face to face time as
well as being supported by telephone and Blended Learning
interactions.
